On behalf of the FPSA Team, I want to wish you a very happy New Year. We thank you for your continued support and are looking forward to working with you in what is going to be an extremely busy, exciting, and prosperous 2019.
First, on our 2019 calendar of events – and hopefully yours too – is the FPSA Annual Conference being held March 19th – 21st in San Antonio, TX. This year there will be an array of outstanding speakers from Tyson Foods, Caribbean Food Delights, fairlife LLC, HPP Fresh Florida, Darigold, CocoCanna, Pasquale Food Systems and many more. You definitely won't want to miss our Keynote Speaker, Dawn Hudson. Dawn is the Former Chief Marketing Officer at the National Football League and Former President and CEO of Pepsi Cola North America and PepsiCo Foodservice. We will once again be holding a very informative and interactive cross-segment panel discussion with experts in the Food Safety & Sanitary Design arena. And, on top of that our new Networks will be holding their first series of in-person meetings at the Annual Conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet experts in Food Safety, Technology, and Packaging from our member companies. The new network structure will add a whole new level of networking and education to all of our events. And, a great time will be had by all attendees at our 1st ever FPSA Auction where we will be raising funds for a variety of great charitable causes. Second, the start of the year brings the launch of our Career Development Scholarship program with our Foundation awarding up to 15 scholarships to FPSA members' employees and immediate family members. The application process begins January 7 and ends on April 12. Winners will be notified in May. To learn more about the program, please click HERE. Third, another beneficial and helpful membership tool being provided to FPSA members in Q1 is a Job Board which will be housed on the FPSA Website. In 2017, over 100 members posted jobs within the Membership Booth at PROCESS EXPO. Based on this strong interest, we embarked on an effort to build an electronic tool to assist our members in securing top talent.
Fourth, it goes without saying that the premier and most important event for 2019 is PROCESS EXPO, being held October 8th-11th in the South Hall at McCormick Place in Chicago. This year's show builds on the success that was realized at our 2017 show and will include even more on-show floor activities including an increased number of “live” production lines which will keep attendees on the show floor. We are enhancing and expanding our attendance promotion and registration will open this month. We are also asking all exhibitors to participate in our VIP Guest Invite Program which provides you with modern, versatile tools to highlight your participation in the show and invite your customers and prospects to attend. This program will be launched this month and will make a great addition to your pre-show marketing plans. Thanks to your involvement we believe this year's show will continue to grow and provide exhibitors with great opportunities to interact with new and existing attendees.
Fifth, we also encourage you to take part in our FREE informative webinars that will be held during 2019. During the first quarter of the year we will hold seminars on: The Design and Construction of the Modern Cold Storage Facility; Introduction of AGV and How it Applies to the Food Industry; and, the first of many show webinars. Stay tuned for more details on how to register for these and many more sessions that will take place.
Sixth, members should be on the lookout for our publication of six “global trends and forecast studies” that will be released to the membership this upcoming year. These new, as well as past studies, provide extremely valuable information, data, and projections on equipment sales opportunities.
