The Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) today announced the election of the Board of Directors of its Pet Food Council which was created in 2018, joining the Association’s existing five industry Councils including Bakery, Beverage, Dairy, Meat and Prepared Foods. These twenty-one new directors are responsible for helping to shaping the Association’s programs relative to this crucial vertical industry segment and providing representation on the FPSA Board of Directors.

“The response to this announcement from FPSA membership has been tremendous,” said Tom Hoffmann, Chairman of the Pet Food Council and Director of Sales for MEPACO. “In fact, the member interest was so overwhelming that this group which would eventually be elected to the Council Board, became FPSA’s largest Council in a matter of just a few months. We have hosted some spirited meetings and are looking forward to what we can achieve as a group. We have already held excellent technical sessions at the recent FPSA Annual Conference and are now planning on having an impact at this year’s PROCESS EXPO.”

“With the explosive growth in the pet food industry and growing FPSA member involvement in it, this move made complete sense,” said Jarrod McCarroll, Chairman of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FPSA) and President of Weber, Inc. “FPSA is the only horizontal organization with members that provide manufacturing solutions for all of the food and beverage verticals and pet food fits very well within this spectrum whether it be for processing, packaging, or food safety. This inaugural Council Board is eager to make its mark with new programs that create value for both suppliers and pet food manufacturers alike.”
