On May 20th, FPSA will host the FPSA Auction online with the goal of generating contributions to fund the Giving Back charity efforts sponsored by FPSA’s six Industry Councils. Normally a live event takes place at the FPSA Annual Conference, this year we are holding the Auction as a virtual event due to the Conference being cancelled as a result of the COVID pandemic.
In addition to the Auction, FPSA is also hosting a virtual Wine Tasting immediately prior to the Auction to help members get in the mood for the Auction.
As this is the first time FPSA has ever offered a virtual Auction, we have prepared this FAQ document to clarify how this process will work and encourage participation among members and other professionals.
The Auction is broken down into two parts – the Silent Auction and the Live Auction. The Silent Auction will run from 12pm ET on Monday, May 10th through 1pm ET on Friday, May 21st. The Live Auction will take place from 8-9pm ET on Thursday, May 20th.
This year’s Auction will take place virtually on MS Teams and will be hosted by celebrity auctioneer and comedian, James Cunningham.
The first 250 people to register on the auction website at https://fpsa2021.givesmart.com will receive a calendar invite to the Live Auction hosted on Microsoft Teams. Participants will watch the live Auction on Teams and place their bids (live or silent) on the GiveSmart Auction portal.
No. This means MS Team is limiting us to 250 connections on the live meeting. There is no limit to the number of people who wish to register for the Auction on GiveSmart and bid on items.

To participate in the silent auction, you must register on the auction website at https://fpsa2021.givesmart.com, and to place a bid, you must have a credit card on file. The Silent Auction will run from noon ET on Monday, May 10th through 1 pm ET on Friday, May 21st.
There is no cost to participate in the auction. However, you are required to put a credit card number on file to place a bid.

Traditionally, the Auction is preceded by a wonderful reception that helps get participants in the mood for the Auction. As we are holding a virtual auction this year, we decided to try and hold a virtual wine tasting right before of this year’s event. The Wine Tasting will take place on Thursday, May 20th from 6:45pm to 7:45pm ET.
No, it doesn’t. You sign up for the Wine Tasting separately by placing your order with our partner in this special event, ONX Wines.
There is no charge to participate in the Wine Tasting, however you will need to purchase the wine from ONX.
The cost of each wine kit (2oz tasting bottles of five different wines) is $30 plus shipping. There are also other options for those that know what they like including a wine kit package which includes a full bottle of red or rose wine, and/or you can purchase full bottles for your group at a 10% discount. It all depends on what you want.
The tasting kit will ship Fed-Ex 2-day to make sure the integrity of the wine is preserved as it travels quickly to your location. An adult 21+ will need to be present to sign for the package, as it contains alcohol.
The last day to register is May 6th. The wines will be shipped roughly a week before the event.
Go right ahead! We know of various members in Kansas City and the Chicago area that are already planning on this. For a group, you might want to consider buying full bottles of the five wines instead of the tasting kits. This can be purchased on the ONX website at a 10% discount for full bottles.
FPSA staff will send the Microsoft Teams invitation the second week of May. You will be able to participate in the Tasting on your pc, or even on a cell phone.
The limit for the FPSA Wine Tasting is 100 sign ups (watch groups will count as 1).
No problem! Sign up for the Auction and log on before 8pm ET on the 20th.
