McLean, Virginia – The Foundation of the Food Processing Suppliers Association (FFPSA) selected its recipients for ten $3,000 Career Development Scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year. Winners of these ten scholarships include family members of employees at FPSA member companies Burd & Fletcher, Fristam Pumps, The Haskell Company (2), Lubriplate Lubricants, Marlen International, RathGibson, REISER and Stork Townsend (2).
“We are proud to support the educational efforts of member companies’ employees and their family members,” expressed Jan Kuhlmann, Chairman of the Foundation of FPSA and President of Multivac, Inc. “With these scholarships, the FPSA Foundation is committed to helping these individuals achieve their career goals.”
The Foundation of FPSA established the Career Development Scholarship Program in 2005 as a unique benefit to FPSA members. It is designed to promote the career and professional development of FPSA member employees who work full time and their immediate family members.
Since its inception in 1983, the FPSA Foundation has focused on supporting the growth of the food industry. In this time, it has touched the lives of more than 2,000 individuals in the early years of their careers through its grants, scholarships and stipends. Many of these individuals are now employed in food and dairy science programs in the nation's universities, in major food, dairy and beverage processing companies, and, in some cases, in FPSA member companies.
