President’s Message – October 2017

“When you make a promise, keep it.” – Zig Zigler

Immediately following the 2015 trade show, we embarked on an effort to analyze every aspect of our show and made a promise to our membership that we would work tirelessly to make PROCESS EXPO 17 a better event for attendees and exhibitors. We initiated focus groups with attendees and exhibitors, created special show workgroups, and engaged our Board and members to develop new and exciting show features and activities. The result of this work was the development of a multitude of new and exciting show floor enhancements that included: full working production lines in baking and meat; specific food safety training education tracks; a virtual reality showcase; an innovations showcase; a first ever executive forum; a 1st Timers program; a women's leadership breakfast; a job board; career development roundtables; increased food and networking events; and many additional enhancements.

The feedback that we have received from attendees and exhibitors alike has been that these new enhancements were greatly received, valued, and appreciated. And, that both the “buzz” on the show floor and the quality of the leads received by the exhibitors met and exceeded expectations. As we have done in the past with every show, we will follow up and share more specific data once the final results and data have been complied. Clearly, none of this would have been achieved without the enthusiasm and energy that you devoted to make sure that this year's show was a success and we greatly thank you for helping to make sure that promises made were kept.

With the show now over, our focus turns to our next great event that you will want to make sure you attend. Our 2018 Annual Conference will be held at the beautiful Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, March 21-23rd in Tucson, AZ. Two great keynote speakers have already been secured and our Councils are beginning to work on their breakout sessions. Additionally, in an effort to provide more critical industry and leadership information to you, we have modified the conference schedule to increase both our educational and networking opportunities for attendees. You will soon be receiving more information regarding registration in the near future. We look forward to seeing you there.

Lastly, at our recent show we unveiled three new Global Processing Equipment Five-Year Forecasting Studies to the press. These three studies (Meat, Poultry, and Pet Food) are in the process of being printed and will soon be made available to our membership. As an important member benefit to you, these studies are FREE OF CHARGE. I hope you will take advantage of these reports and find them of value in helping to strategize and develop your company's growth plans.

In closing, we are extremely grateful to all of our exhibitors, attendees and all others who worked to make PROCESS EXPO 2017 a reality. Please never hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns on how we can provide the services and membership benefits that will help your company succeed.

Thank you.
