President’s Message – May 2018

As stated by a well-known winning race car driver and entrepreneur Bobby Unser, success can really only be achieved whether in the sports arena or in our professional lives, if we are prepared and take advantage of opportunities. FPSA has been and continues to be committed to assisting you and your company achieve your business's goals and objectives. Below are some of the key tools we provide that will help you to be prepared when opportunities arise in your daily work activities.

First, FPSA offers our membership an array of valuable and profitable program benefits. These cost savings programs give our membership exclusive access to discounts and preferred pricing from a number of partners specifically selected to meet the needs of the food processing and packaging industry. In essence, we have leveraged the tremendous purchasing power of our members to negotiate several affinity programs and other benefits that help maximize your budget and save you money. Second, we continue to offer on a quarterly basis, an outstanding and varied collection of free webinars based on the needs identified by the membership. Upcoming topics for FPSA's upcoming webinars include “Utilizing the Model Sales Contract Resource Guide”, “How to Unlock the Potential of the 4-Generation Workplace” and “How to Attract and Retain Millennial Workers”. We also encourage you to log in to the members only section of the website and avail yourself of our library of past webinars you might have missed that could be beneficial to you.

Third, your Association provides you with a compendium of additional tools and resources ranging from a valuable library of industry segment specific global trend studies for equipment sales, a sales contract resource guide, a buyer's guide, economic newsletters, and specific targeted councils and groups that you can participate in that will assist you to be better prepared to meet your business challenges and opportunities.

Fourth, there is no better way to gain a competitive advantage than to learn directly from experts first hand. Our fourth Fall Sales Conference will take place at the Sheraton Chicago O'Hare Airport Hotel, September 17-19th . Our conference will be entirely devoted to best practices in the modern sales environment with special emphasis tailored to those most involved in your business development process. Topics will cover the entire sales funnel – including marketing and sales, demand creation, lead management, sales and closing strategies to name a few.
